Miststar brought back some of the cats from the battle who wanted to join the clans. Two she-cats and their mates joined the clan. Both she-cats had kits only about a moon older than us! "Moonkit!" a voice called.
"Yes Cinderfur?" Moonkit replied.
"Go play outside dear. With the other kits!"Cinderfur mewed.
Moonkit bounced out of the nursery. A pretty gray she-kit watched the toms wrestle and play. Looking for the new tom kits she spotted another blue gray kit but this one was a tabby. He wrestled a black and white tom with faint tawny stripes on his face. "Hi, I'm Waterkit. I see that you've been watching my brother and his friend wrestle." a mew sounded that seemed as though full of seasons of wisdom.
Moonkit turned her head to see the light gray she-kit looking at her and sitting next to her. She looked into her eyes and noticed their odd shade of blue green. "I know you're looking at my eyes. There isn't anything wrong with me! I'm blind I know but it's not like no other cat on the island hasn't been blind before!"
"I- I- I didn't know. I just never saw a blind cat before, b-because I've never been out of camp." Moonkit squeaked.
Waterkit lightened a little, "You haven't? that's a little wierd."
"We can't leave camp until we're six moons old." Moonkit continued.
"Oh....well sorry I yelled at you it really wasn't your fault." Waterkit lowered her head as though it seemed she were looking at her paws.
"How could you tell what I was doing anyway?" Moonkit pressed.
"Can't yoou sense all around you?" Waterkit questioned.
"In a way," Moonkit started, "But if someone were staring at me and I couldn't see them, like if they were behind me, I wouldn't know."
"Don't all cats do it though?"Waterkit continued questioning.
"Not like you." Moonkit answered.
"Weaselkit , for the last time go outside!" a queen yelled pushing a ginger she-kit outside.
"That would be my sister. Weaslkit!" Waterkit called.
"What?" Weaselkit called in return.
"Come meet....... um.... you haven't told me your name." Waterkit turned to Moonkit.
"Oh... Moonkit."
"Moonkit!" Waterkit continued.
Weaselkit trotted up next to her. "Hey."
"Hi" Moonkit replied.
"Moonkit who are these two!" her sister's excited mew came from behind her.
"Um.... Owlkit this is Waterkit and Weaselkit." Moonkit gestured with her tail.
"Are you sisters?" Owlkit asked.
"No, but we're friends." Weaselkit replied.
